                                                              The Three Blondes
The three blondes Ms.Piatka 49, and her two partners, Terry Lynn Meyer 47, and Candace Brinsmead, 40 started an Edmonton-based low-fat cake and muffin maker. Ms. Piatka had an entrepreneurial vision to sell brownies and muffins and started in her Edmonton kithen with fat-reduced muffins, she tested these on her teenaged children and delivered to small stores and coffee shops. This venture was focused on baking sweets. When Piatka appeared on a morning television show hosted by Ms.Meyer they saw business opportunity and recruited Ms.Brinsmead and started on a fast track. After only four months the company persuaded McDonald's to test the fat-wise muffins in Edmonton, McDonald's tested in the product in Vancouver as well, and then went nationwide. The company hit $100 000 the first year, in 1998 it hit $2.3 million and by 2005 almost $7 million. They also avoided the word low-fat because people are not always interested when it says low-fat, this is important because you want people to be interested in the product. The name of the company is also important because this also is what gets peoples attention and helps the company to expand. Some principles that contribute to the companys success is they have no debt and also each partner works out of their home.
